About the Geology Protractor 

Our Geology Protractor is designed to make your life a little better. It does this in several ways:

  • First, it puts 0° at the top where north is. It’s a small difference, but after always using a protractor and constantly turning it 90° to get the angle from north, I thought it would be nice to have 0° at the top.

  • Second, the smaller form factor (45x90mm, or about 1.75 x 3.5”, compared to ~4x6” normally) makes it easier to work with on smaller maps in the field.

  • Third, our “fluorescent red” acrylic protractor is next to impossible to lose in the field thanks to how bright it is.

Available in Three Materials:

1/4” “Fluorescent Red” Acrylic:

  • Our most popular version, it is bright and visible. Sized so that a tough, clear tape (such as Gorilla or T-Rex brand) can be added on one side to increase durability.

  • 45mm tall.

1/8” Transparent PETG:

  • PETG is very durable

  • 45 or 90mm tall

  • Half-Circle or Rectangle Format.

1/8” Transparent Acrylic

  • Less durable than PETG, but more scratch resistant.

  • Sized so a single strip of clear waterproof tape (such as Gorilla or T-Rex) can be added to improve durability.

  • 45mm tall
